Fun in the sun! Today was awesome, sunny and not windy. I also discovered my mistake today, that no one crrected me on, especially one person… Toon’s Birthday was today, not last week.. I have no idea where I got the idea from that it was last week. Anyway, shit happens, it’s Toon’s day off, Ben is on Holidays and the rest of us bluggers also have the day off. This means we drank beer from luchtime to evening. Two barbies and a good day sitting in the sun and talking shit… ho it was like summer had come early.

I wish Sooki had the day off too… :-(

Wahaha, I feel like an old man. I am walking around like an old man. I have short hair like and old man. ARRRRR! I am still sore from Saturday. I think my body is say something like: “Shape up or give up”. I don’t like the later.

Anyway, not much to say today, but Sean has linked me from his blog. And I just read Jonathan’s blog.. and I must say I am glad I don’t live with those boy. Man I have done some stupid shit in my time, but you guys cut the cake!

Also I feel I should comment about Sean and crew’s dislike for Macs…. ummm I can’t say I am a WinBlows lover or anything else. Use the tools that you need for the job. That been said I do love OS X, and you guys just don’t know how to use it. You are stuck in your micro$loth ways. You are so used having things done in a hard way, that you are used to it. Then you get to a Mac and try to do the same thing, of course it isn’t going to work. Anyway, I use all three operating systems, so you can’t take a chunk out of me ;-P About the graphics assignment and the g4’s: of course it going to run like shit when there is no backface culling and the code isn’t using native or enhanced frameworks. The machines ain’t built to do that sort of shit, if you want to do that with a mac, you have to do what you do with a PC, and get a tower and put a very good grahpics card in it. So you can rant and rave about them not working properly, but if you owned one and treated like your PC at home and didn’t have to use a public machine I think you will find that it works just as good. Hell my graphics assignment works better on my g3 laptop than the g4’s at the school of computing.

Well I have had my rant, and everyone is entitled to their opinion. Maybe later I will tell you why I almost told Apple to shove my laptop up their arse. But thats another story for a later time.

Well I got up at 8:30am this morning.. Saturday morning for christ sake, to set up for Queen at the Silverdome. If you don’t already know, I am a qualified sound engineer, but don’t do much work in the bizz as there isn’t any. Anyway I do jobs every now and then as a loader/setup-er… not a roady, as they travel with the band.. therefore the name roady. Basically it shit manual labor, but it is good to do that sort of work every now and then. The setup was fairly easy, only 4 hours long. Small rig, just flew the X-array system (the big speakers up into the air) and set up the amps, splitters and setup the mics. I really don’t understand people pay money to see a tribute band o an old great band. I bet most of them didn’t even know half of it wa running of synced mini-disc. But it is money for me :-)

When home afterwards and avioded the stupid football grandfinal by sleeping on the couch, until Toon yeld from the computer room, “I’ve found a lollie!”. Talk about jarring my brain back into reality, especial when it came into my ears as “IgggfggfgALLLLI!”. Scared the shit out of me, and I also had headphones on.

Well Sooki and I watched Alice in Wonderland on winTV as there wasn’t anything better to do and then I went to pack the show up (about 10.30pm).

Then the day got shit. We pulled the system apart really fast. Got it all packed up and ready to be lugged back into the semi trailers. As there was only two trucks, we had a sound truck and a light truck. Directing the lighting truck is a little shit called Garath. This is a guy who thinks the sun not only shines out his arse, but if it didn’t it would be someone elses fault but his own. This guy shit me, and ever other person on the gig. I havn’t heard so much distain for someone in a longtime, and even from people who just meet him. Garath is 20 and thinks he knows everything. We the crew of this gig think is Garath is a spoiled shit and he has fucked up the load out! A simple 2-3 hours pull-down and lug out, but NO, Garath had his own ideas on how to do it and didn’t listen to any of the crew or his superiours. 1.5 hours after we should have been home in the warmth, we are still tring to pack the fucking trucks. It is hard to explain, but to put it simply, this guy will get someone killed one day. I feel I won’t be working for them again if he is on the gig.

Well I am fucked, and need sleep.
