Today was the big trip to Hobart early in the morning for our (Sooki and I) NOVA interview. NOVA? I hear you ask. Well basically it teaching English in Japan. Sooki and I looked at it as a cool and interesting oppotunity to see Japan. I was all excited but then I got told some horror stories and have been researching the company for a week and a half before the interview. So we got up at 6:30am and drove down to Hobart’s Ridges Hotel. At 9:30 was the introduction session, then a grammar test. Then we got allocated one on one interview times. Our were after 2pm, so when the intro and test stuff finished at 11am. Sooki and I went into town for lunch and so she could shop.
Hobart (well Tasmania) today… My god was it cold, it even hailed. I was walking around in my nice new suit and was one big goose-bump. We had sushi for lunch at the sushi train. It was so yummy. I love sushi, I need to improve my sushi making skills this summer. I know a lot of my friends wont mind that
After Lunch, Sooki needed her manatory Morning Glory stop off, for another plush toy. This time a mashi-marro (spelling). Then back to the interviews.
So I got the woman interviewer, Sooki got the man (there were only 2 people). I had the usual question, no prob answering them. Then I had to read a lesson out, piece of piss. After that I got my turn to answer questions. I grilled her with 45 minutes of questions (I wrote out a big page of them). All in all I got them answered, even the questions about NOVA being arseholes, etc. I only got one passed to the keeper.
Overall fairly informative, but I will say no if they say I can go. Why? Well it going to cost ME, $5000 aprox before I go. I find that a bit steep when they are employing us to go there. They don’t even pay for the airtickets etc. Fuck that! I not putting myself into a position where they can screw me over because I am indebt to get there. There is way more to the story, but I can’t be bother writing about it. Let it say I have learnt a good deal about Japanese labor laws in the last 2 weeks.
So we cruised home, via my parents for tea. Later Mr. Ben Jorden called up to see if I was up for beer drinking, and he was supplying the beer. I couldn’t refuse. So we drank and I showed him Ninja Scroll TV, Excel Saga, Heat Guy J, Sonic the Hedgehog TV. He also told us the big news of Lindsey is up the duff and on purpose. There will be a little Jorden in April. CONGRATS guys, but I am alittle scared. I can’t imagine a little Jorden… but I’ll see one soon.
Well got to bed at 3am and my head swims. Nite all!
