My long awaited blog update…

What has been happening in my life. In a word, lots.

Lets see, I just brought a new scanner. A loverly Epson Perfection 1670 Photo from Hardly Normal (Harvey Norman). Why did I buy a scanner… well I needed to scan stuff for clients and one of them offered theirs to do the job. I took it, plugged it in, installed the software, and killed XP. Loverly, I love micro$loth stability, really I do. So I went fuck it, I have money for once, and I can charge the client enough to get the money back on the purchase, so Sooki and I trundled down to see Ben and Toon at their place of slavery, and made the deed offical. I must say I am impressed with the OS X software, fast, easy to install, works in all my apps I need it too. Great stuff, it even has a neg scanner which works fine too. Happy with my purchase :-)

Ghostline work has been going well. I finally wrote down a list of things I needed to do, and what would you know, I actually did it. Over three days I got 5 jobs out of way, and charged them out. I also got house stuff done and other personal stuff. I am rocking, and slowly getting motivated onwards and upwards!

Ummm, I might have blown my horn a bit early, but it might pay off. I went to uni project demo day to check out this years disasters and successes. I was some what surprised at the level that many of the projects came up too. I had a quick look at all the projects and had a chat with old friends etc. Why I say I might have blown my horn is because one of the projects was a web site for the Saloon. I hate to say it to the project team, but my god it was shit. I then said it with a holier than thou way that I’ll get contracted to fix that abortion. I felt really stupid about it afterwards (I didn’t say it to the project team, just friends). But I might have got it anyway :-) and Redz Niteclub. So more work is a coming.

I still to create the visuals for redz, but I have it all mapped out. This week I will get into it.

Last Friday I went to Ben’s with Sooki’s PS2 and a solding iron and chip. Yes that right, we dismantled her precious, and started putting the mod chip in. We had trouble with the solder staying on the PCB. Ben continued the next day and got it finished, but it didn’t work. It still plays normal games (therfore PS2 is still ok), but not other region games. Ben is going to have another go at it tonight if he gets a chance.

On a bad note, Ben’s brother had a bad car accident last Saturday. Ben didn’t tell me what happened until he sent my the photos of the damage. Not pretty. The story is that he fell asleep at the wheel with cruise control on at 110 kph and hit two trees. Hope the guy and his girl get better.

Well now I better go home and fix up tea. I’ll try to update the blog a little more regularly, hopefully.

DVD Burner! I’m getting a burner! I had a meeting with Redz Nightclub manager for creating visuals for the projector. The best and easiest way is creating a DVD that can be put onto repeat all night. This means I need a burner.. this means I get a burner! But this doesn’t solve my lack of firewire drive bay and hard drive for my mac. Just gotta work harder, and stop taking the day off to drink beers with Toon and Co.
